Woman Toll Worker Assault Sparks Outrage in Greater Noida; 5 Held in Shocking Attack

Woman Toll Worker at the Luharli toll plaza in Dadri, Greater Noida, was allegedly assaulted by a protester during a demonstration over toll charges, leading to five arrests. The shocking incident, captured on CCTV, showed a man grabbing the woman by her neck and pushing her as she tried to manage the angry crowd.

The prime suspect, 28-year-old Amit Mukhiya from Bulandshahr, was arrested along with four others who joined him in forcing toll employees to stop collecting fees. The mob of around 150 people, claiming to be farmers, demanded free passage for their commercial vehicles citing frequent crossings. As the situation escalated, the woman toll worker attempted to restore order, only to be manhandled in broad daylight.

An FIR was lodged following a distress call to helpline 112. Mukhiya has been booked under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including charges for assault with intent to outrage modesty, causing hurt, and criminal intimidation. “We have arrested the main accused and detained four others. Investigations are ongoing,” said ADCP Sudhir Kumar.

In a separate incident, two youths were arrested after a video went viral showing them performing dangerous stunts in a white Toyota Fortuner near Noida’s Sector 126. The video shows the men spraying liquid from bottles in the middle of the road after halting the vehicle.

ADCP Sumit Shukla confirmed their arrest, saying, “The vehicle has been seized and a case has been filed for public nuisance and obstructing traffic.”
