A 37-year-old woman from Noida took her own life together with her 11-year-old son after jumping from their 13th-floor apartment in Ace City Greater Noida because she could no longer bear her son’s prolonged mental illness. The woman named Sakshi Chawla devoted herself to caring for her son Daksh who received medical treatment for more than ten years.
The police investigation revealed that Sakshi lived with her husband Darpan Chawla who worked as a chartered accountant at their home when the tragic event took place. The man explained to authorities that he was in a different room when he heard a loud scream before he ran to the balcony to discover his wife and son dead on the ground.
The police force arrived at the scene to retrieve the bodies which they then sent for post-mortem examination. The police discovered a handwritten note which Sakshi addressed to Darpan where she expressed her apology by stating she wanted to spare him from destruction and no one should bear responsibility for their deaths.
